Dua for Protection from the Nafs (for spiritual strength)

O Ever Living One, O Eternal One, by Your mercy
I call on You to set right all my affairs.
Do not place me in charge of my soul even for the blinking of an eye
(i.e. a moment).
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu birahmatika ‘astagheethu ‘aslih lee sha’nee
kullahu wa laa takilnee ‘ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘aynin.
Its chain of transmission is sound (Sahih), Al-Hakim 1/545, see Albani, Sahihut-Targhib wat-Tarhib, 1/273
.Rabbana la tuzigh quloobanaa baAAda iz hadaytana
wahab lanaa min ladunka rahmatan innaka antal wahhaab
رَبَّنا لا تُزِغ قُلوبَنا بَعدَ إِذ هَدَيتَنا وَهَب لَنا مِن لَدُنكَ رَحمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الوَهّابُ
”Our Lord! make not our hearts to deviate after
Thou hast guided us aright and grant us from Thee
mercy;surely Thou art the most liberal Giver”
SURAH Al-Imran,verse 8
